Ten years after the games Newham is home to a world-class sports district, up-market living space, a vast new London parkland and a gleaming cultural and business centre. But have the Olympics had a positive impact on the lives of local residents? This report, supported by the Centre for Investigative Journalism at Goldsmiths University, suggests that in the wake of gentrification, broken promises over affordable homes and a lack of democracy in decision-making, more needs to be done to deliver on promises of providing opportunities for local people.
